Victoria N Munyama

President of NAMHIVSOC since  2019.
Victoria N Munyama is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years experience in Paediatric care and nursing and currently working as a Travelling Nurse with an insurance company. Her interest in HIV Matters stems years back when she studied nursing, nursing patients with HIV/AIDS at a time when HAART was just rolling out in health care institutions and the disease was at its peak in mortality rates in Namibia.
Born and raised in Namibia, she grew up in Grootfontein and finished her primary and secondary school there, and took on tertiary education at the University of Namibia, where she obtained her 4 years Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing and Midwifery, and is also certified in:

Ndahafa Nantanga

Ndahafa Nantanga has been serving on the Executive Committee of the Namibian HIV Clinician Society since 2011 and she was appointed as the Vice President of the Namibian HIV Clinician Society in 2012. She is a Private Nurse Practitioner, and owns a private practice in Windhoek, offering general nursing services, HIV Counselling and Testing Services and ARV Medicine Adherence Counseling. Ndahafa Nantanga holds a Diploma in Nursing (UNAM); a certificate in HIV Counseling at Testing (UNAM); Post Graduate Diploma in HIV Management (Stellenbosch University); B-Tech in Business Administration (Polytechnic of Namibia) and currently studying towards a MBA with Polytechnic of Namibia.
She has been working in the field of HIV and AIDS since 2001 when she started as a Nurse in Charge of Pediatric ARV clinic at Katutura State Hospital, a first clinic to pilot Pediatric ARV treatment and HIV DNA PCR Testing in Namibia.
She worked as a PMTCT/HIV DNA PCR Trainer and coordinated and facilitated various HIV and AIDS trainings to many medical professionals in Namibia.
Ndahafa is very passionate about caring for less privileged children and her motto is “I cannot assist all the needy children but I can assist them by helping one child at a time” and she is living her dream, as she is currently working as an Executive Director for Kumika Community Centre, an NGO founded by herself and other Nurses aimed at contributing to the improvement of the quality of lives of young children, adolescents and youth living with/affected by HIV and AIDS including children from impoverished households in Oshikoto region.

Dr Flavia Mugala-Mukungu

Dr Flavia Mugala-Mukungu is a permanent resident of Namibia since 1997. She is a Specialist Physician who trained in Makerere University Kampala, with special interest in HIV AIDS and other infectious diseases. 
She is one of the founder members of the HIV Clinicians Society that was launched in 2005. She has worked for the Ministry of Health since 1993. She is a clinician as well as a researcher especially in HIV/AIDS. 
Dr Mugala has been member of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to the Ministry of Health and Social Services since 2000. She served as a leader in HIV care when she was appointed as Chairperson of TAC 2000-2003. She also was appointed on the advisory Board of Secure the Future program 2000 to 2002 which was involved in HIV/AIDS research. 
Dr Mugala-Mukungu was a consultant with Pharmaccess International 2006-2007. She has continued to play and advisory role to the Pharmaccess International Namibia since then.

RN. Tigist A. Yalew

Tigist Abate Yalew was born in Gondar Town, Northern part of Ethioipia. A Registered Nurse by profession, with 20 years experience in different specialized skills. She holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Diagnosis and Management of HIV/AIDS, Graduated at International University of Management, Windhoek, Namibia; Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health at Debub University, Hawassa Health Science Campus, Ethioipia; Diploma in Clinical Nursing at Gondar college of Medical science (Gondar University), Ethioipia; a certificate in HIV Counselling & Testing; a certificate in Rapid Test Training and a certificate in Secretarial & Administration from the United Kingdom. Tigist has been working in different countries including Ethioipiawith her professional skills capacity. Currently she is employed by Ministry of Health & Social Service of Namibia, working at Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Windhoek Central Hospital, Namibia. Furthermore she has an experiences worked at Cardio thoracic Operating Room, General Operating Theater, Maternity Operating Room as a Scrub Registered Nurse, as well as at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Maternity wing, Windhoek Central Hospital, Namibia. She was an active member of the Namibian HIV Clinicians Society (NAMHIVSOC) before being elected to serve on its committee in 2017 Till date. She has been serving the NAMHIVSOC by organizing workshops and training in her Specialty field on HIV/AIDS, especially in Rapid Test Training. She is passionate about helping and assisting people who are living with HIV Positive, as she conducted a research on “Experiences of people adherence to Anti-Retro viral Treatment (ART)” at Katutura state Hospital, and it had a successful out come. “Every Great dream begins with a dreamer” ” You have with in you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world!”

Dr Alexander Adedotun Alagba

Dr Alexander Adedotun Alagba was born in Nigeria. Date and Place of Birth: 21 November, Lagos.
He went Christ Church Cathedral School, Lagos .He Attended Secondary School at Saint Murumba College, Jos, Nigeria and Higher Education: University of Maiduguri.

Aletta Noabes

Ms. Aletta !Nôabes graduated as a Registered Nurse at UNAM in 1996, she worked at the Community and Family Health Services in Windhoek, Khomas for 7 years ,Before moving to Windhoek District Office as a HIS Officer. Currently she is Clinical Instructor in Health Science General Nursing at UNAM Since 2017 till date. She was an active member of the Namibia HIV Clinicians Society (NAMHIVSOC) before being elected to serve on its Committee in 2017 till date .

Dr. Tulonga N. Nhinda

Dr. Tulonga N. Nhinda is a Senior Medical Officer in the Department of Internal Medicine, at Intermediate Hospital Oshakati, Northern Namibia. She was appointed as an Executive Committee Member for HIV Clinician Society in 2017.

Dr Bikinesi Leonard

Dr Bikinesi Leonard Specialist Family Physician trained at Stellenbosch University. Currently is the Chief HIV Clinical Mentor for the Ministry Of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), Directorate of Special Programs. He is a member of a number of Technical Working Groups at the MoHSS. His areas of interest include HIV drug resistance, clinical governance, tele mentoring, research, and quality improvement.  Dr Bikinesi is also the Africa MetaECHO Collaborative team lead, Project ECHO Immersion trainer, ICASA abstract reviewer and participates in WHO HIV drug resistance subgroup meetings. He has worked in Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and in Namibia since 2010.

Dr Emmanouel Mannie Ndoukve

Dr Emmanouel. Mannie. Ndoukve Is a veteran in the practice of medicine( general practice for over 21 years). Worked in Various district hospitals across the country. During the period of work, came across different cases of child and women abuses, transmission of STIs in minors which led to a research and creation of the ministry of women and child welfare in collaboration with the former Minister of Health, Hon. Lebatina Amadila. Presently continues working as a general practitioner in the private sector. DR. Ndoukve is currently busy specializing in Clinical dermatology and Teledermatogy with the University of South Wales UK. Dr Ndoukve attended Moscow State University Named after Lomonosov ,Russia .The Tver state Medical University ,Russia. He did elective studies in St Georges medical University , London UK. He possess a qualifications in medicine (MD Russia), Certificate in dopler Ultrasound from Thomas Jefferson medical University Pennsylvania USA and Certificate in HIV/AIDS from the University of Washington DC USA.

Agnes Esther Thanises

I Agnes Esther Thanises, 58 years of age, am a nurse for the past 35 years now and currently working at the Windhoek Central Hospital (WCH) complex working with the pediatric, private and state patients. I have always been interested and later became dedicated in working with and caring for people with various ailments, sicknesses and diseases and to broaden my scope recently underwent a workshop aimed at better understanding and caring for patients with HIV/AIDS especially here at home in Namibia. The above-mentioned workshop entitled Nurse-Initiated Management of ART workshop
  • had the following units being its focal points:
  • Epidemiology, Immunology and Biology of HIV
  • Natural History of HIV infection, Routine HIV care and prophylaxis
  • Introduction to comprehensive HIV care
  • History Taking and physical Assessment

Dr Nunurai Ruswa

Dr N Ruswa is a medical doctor and public health practitioner with several years’ experience in the management of HIV and TB. He holds masters’ degrees in infectious diseases as well as public health. He has worked for the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation and the National TB and Leprosy Programme leading the clinical and programmatic management of drug resistant TB in Namibia. Dr Ruswa has also served as a consultant for KNCV, the World Health Organisation, The International Union Against TB & Lung Disease, USAID and the Stop TB Partnership on the management of drug resistant TB and TB/HIV, contributing to guidelines development, trainings, programme reviews, surveillance activities and review of scientific articles and abstracts.
